Hazardous Area Classification

Our client utilizes various Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) drawings to guide the requirements and precautions that must be taken when performing Hot Work in these Hazardous locations and to specify the requirements for new electrical equipment that may be added to the Hazardous locations. Therefore the accuracy of these drawings is very important to maintain the safety of the personnel and facility.

Local Engineering reviewed the current electrical classification of hazardous areas on the site, confirmed if there were other locations on the site that should be elevated or de-rated in classification, and updated the existing HAC documentation with the findings of this analysis in accordance with NFPA 497 and 499.
