Fluid Withdrawal Test

Our client required multi-discipline engineering of a temporary piping and tankage setup to safely withdraw crude oil from an operating pipeline; the intent of the project was to test their leak detection system.  Local’s scope included a feasibility study on maximum viable withdrawal rate, defining fluid storage and containment requirements, performing steady state and transient hydraulics, evaluation of static and dynamic pipe stresses, relief device sizing, temporary bracing design, rental equipment sourcing, hazard analysis, facilitation of constructability review meetings, and on-site construction management.
